Solo Exhibition of Edmund Hanser

Born in 1980 in rural southern Germany, Edmund Hanser grew up in a quiet, natural environment. In 2001, he moved to Switzerland, where he still lives and works today. His fascination with nature has accompanied him for many years – initially in the form of landscape and macro photography, which sharpened his eye for both the large and the very small. The contrast between expansiveness and richness of detail had a lasting impact on his artistic perception. In 2020, he discovered painting and developed his own unique visual language: fresh, abstract, unconstrained, emotional, and above all – self-taught.

As a mixed-media artist, he primarily uses acrylic paints and acrylic varnishes with unconventional tools, such as the hairdryer, which he prefers to use for the pouring technique and serves as an extended brush, bringing movement and depth to his works. His works thrive on the dynamic nature of the colors, the interplay of forms, and a palpable emotionality. Each painting becomes a sensual dialogue – between paint, canvas, and viewer.
